Bringing 20+ years of construction industry experience, Ben is a specialist in fire-stopping known for translating complex technical requirements into compliant, market-ready products. His expertise spans the full product lifecycle, from initial concept and certification to successful market delivery.

Ben was initially recruited three years ago to initiate and manage the development of our new FirePro® range. Today, he leverages his deep technical grounding and market insights to help drive sector growth, focusing on building key industry relationships to deliver innovative, fit-for-purpose fire-stopping solutions.

Mike Meakin – Fire Protection Consultant (Midlands)

Mike Meakin is a Fire Protection Consultant (Midlands) at ROCKWOOL UK, bringing over 20 years of experience in the building and construction industry. 

Since joining ROCKWOOL in 2021, he has provided expert guidance on passive fire protection solutions, helping to advise industry professionals on fire safety in their projects. Mike holds an IFE Level 3 qualification, educating personnel on the principles and types of passive fire protection measures.  

Mike regularly shares his expertise through ROCKWOOL CPDs and seminars, delivering valuable insights both online and in-person.

Richard Gannon – Senior Fire Design Engineer

As a Senior Fire Design Engineer at ROCKWOOL UK, Richard Gannon brings in depth knowledge of fire stopping and fire protection detailing, delivering fire safety strategies and systems for building and infrastructure projects. 

Richard leads fire safety initiatives with over 10 years of technical knowledge and practical experience in the fire sector.

With a specialism in fire resistance testing, covering multiple product sectors, Richard continually works to develop the ROCKWOOL product range through testing and collaborating on certification to meet the needs of the industry.
