Overview
Timber frame construction is one of the most commonly used building types in the UK and is at the forefront of design innovation in the construction industry. However, guidance from the Health and Safety Executive and the Structural Timber Association has identified that fire risk needs to be closely managed when building with timber frames, especially during the more vulnerable construction phase, and that separating distances need to be closely assessed.
This CPD will look at the guidance issued in detail, and review testing carried out by ROCKWOOL that enables mitigation of fire risk during construction, and allows buildings to be constructed closer together on site.
