Pitched Roof Insulation

Installing ROCKWOOL insulation can be done by local contractors or installers and - in some cases – even by homeowners themselves. Always take the necessary precautions and follow the stated advice and instructions.

Local building traditions and product specific requirements are best taken from our local web pages. Rafter line insulation commonly used in, for example, Germany or Poland, requires a different approach as for example the installation of loft granulate often used in France or Scandinavia.

Top tips if you are preparing to insulate a pitched roof:

• Ensure you have accurate measurements of the area you’re insulating.
• Inspect all existing joists and electrical cabling, to ensure proper condition.
• Ensure water tightness and breathability of the outside part of the construction. If necessary fitting a suitable membrane on the outside of the roofline.
• Ensure proper ventilation of the construction when required
